But at the similar price (slightly more than the MI A2), Xiaomi launched yet another phone. And the phone is none other than the MI 8 Lite. And we will be talking about this device in this Xiaomi MI 8 Lite review. Performance is the strong suit of Xiaomi phones and it hasn’t changed with the MI 8 Lite. The phone comes with Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Unlike the Xiaomi MI A2, the MI 8 Lite comes with an SD card. So if you wish to expand the storage further, it’s easy and convenient on the MI 8 Lite. With this hardware setup, the phone looked capable on the gaming front. So, the first thing I did when I got the device was to perform the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite gaming test. Playing light games, using light apps and multitasking between them was an absolute breeze on the device. I also played heavy and graphics-intensive games like PUBG and Asphalt 9. And as expected, my Xiaomi MI 8 Lite PUBG and Xiaomi MI 8 Lite Asphalt 9 experience was absolutely delightful. The phone ran with respectable fluidity in the medium setting. But if you perform Xiaomi MI 8 Lite vs Poco F1 comparison on the performance front, you will get the results on the Poco’s side although the latter one is not that expensive when the price is compared. But if you compare Xiaomi MI 8 Lite vs Huawei Y9 2019, you will find the MI 8 Lite performing better than the Huawei phone. And you will also get the result in the favor of MI 8 Lite on performing Xiaomi MI 8 Lite vs Redmi Note 6 Pro comparison. But despite the same set of hardware, you will find the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite benchmarks to be lower than that of the MI A2’s if you test Xiaomi MI 8 Lite vs MI A2 side by side. On the display front, the handset comes with a 6.26-inch IPS panel with 2.5D curved glass on the top. In terms of resolution, Xiaomi MI 8 Lite features Full-HD+ resolution in 19:9 aspect ratio. So the contents on the device look fairly sharp. The Xiaomi MI 8 Lite display also has a notch on the top, which is quite wide and obtrusive than the teardrop/water-drop style notches typically found on Oppo and Vivo phones. Talking about the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite camera, there is a dual camera setup and a single camera setup. The rear camera is a 12MP and 5MP combo, which is the same setup which we saw on Redmi Note 6 Pro and Note 5 AI. So the camera performance is not really that different if the camera samples are compared side by side. Moving on to the selfie side, a 24MP shooter rests meticulously on the notch up top. And talking about the selfies, the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite front camera does a good job considering the price. Now continuing with the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite specs, the phone lacks 3.5mm headphone jack, which is quite a bummer for the price. It would be the aspect, which could have been the deal breaker between the MI A2 and MI 8 Lite but that’s not the case here. So you have to live with that. Now let’s talk about the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite battery. The phone comes with a 3350mAh battery, which is said to support fast charging. However, the phone comes with a stock charger of 10 watts, which takes a considerate amount of time to get the device fully charged. So for the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite fast charging, you need to spend some extra bucks, which could speed of the charging speed. And finding the Xiaomi MI 8 Lite Quick Charge 3.0 id not that hard after all. It can be found quite easily in the shops that sell mobile accessories.
