And to fill that void, Samsung has introduced Samsung Galaxy M series smartphones targeting at the millennials. The millennials usually seek for bang for buck devices, which has a lot of powerful components on the side and come at a cheaper price. The Chinese smartphones have been doing that for a while now. But how do the Samsung Galaxy M20 fares against its Chinese competitors? Let find out in this Samsung Galaxy M20 Review. Now let’s begin with the Samsung Galaxy M20 specs. The smartphone comes with a tall 6.2-inch display. On the resolution side, the Samsung Galaxy M20 features Full-HD+ resolution. Samsung has baptized the display on the device as the “Infinity-V” display. Samsung Galaxy M20 infinity display looks immersive in an all-screen design with a tiny cut out on the top. The cut out on the device looks like a teardrop/water drop style notch typically found on the Oppo and Vivo phones. So has Samsung been innovative here? I think no. Talking about the Samsung Galaxy M20 camera, there is a dual camera setup at the back and a single selfie shooter, which lies meticulously on the top. The camera on the rear panel is a pair of 13MP and a 5MP camera. The primary 13MP shooter here is a normal or wide-angle one shooter whereas the 5MP camera here is an ultra-wide-angle one. Usually, at this price, smartphone companies usually provide a depth sensor to gather depth information while capturing portrait images. So the inclusion of an ultra-wide-angle has added versatility to this device. Samsung has recently brought the Galaxy A7 2018 and the Galaxy A9 2018 smartphones, which had three and four cameras at the back respectively. But the cameras on that device were more of a gimmick. We were alarmed if the case is similar on the also. But when we performed the Samsung Galaxy M20 camera review, we found that the cameras on this device to be decently good. So kudos to Samsung! On the performance front, the smartphone comes with Exynos 7885 chipset with either 3/4GB of RAM. On the storage side of things, the handset comes in 32GB and 64GB format. With this setup, the Samsung Galaxy M20 benchmarks to be close to the smartphones with Snapdragon 636 chipset. We also tried and compared the benchmarks of Samsung Galaxy M20 vs Redmi Note 5 AI. And on the comparison, we found the Galaxy M20’s benchmarks to be just slightly better than the redmi Note 5 AI and the redmi Note 6 Pro. But not a big deal here. On performing the Samsung Galaxy M20 vs Redmi Note 7, the Redmi Note 7 beats the Galaxy M20 by a huge margin. So Samsung still seems to be parsimonious on providing a capable SoC. Nonetheless, the Galaxy M20 is not a slouch when it comes to performing the day to day tasks. It is even capable of handling some graphics-intensive games as well. I played some top-tier games like Asphalt 9, Shadown-gun legends, PUBG and more. On that Samsung Galaxy M20 gaming test, all those games ran with just a minor amount of stutters and drop in frame rates. As far as my Samsung Galaxy M20 PUBG experience is concerned, I managed to kill a decent amount of kills without facing any major sort of lags. So I was decently satisfied on my use. In terms of battery, the phone is powered by a whopping 5000mAh battery with 15-Watt fast charging support. On our review period, we also performed a rigorous Samsung Galaxy M20 battery test checking the endurance and battery life of the phone. And during that test period, we were deeply astounded with the Samsung Galaxy M20 battery life. The phone provided us more than 10 hours of screen on time and the phone lasted for more than two days on the normal use. So with the Galaxy M20 at the disposal, you don’t have to worry about plugging the device to the wall charger every now and then. On the software side, the M20 boots on Android Oreo out of the box with Samsung’s custom UI on the top. But not to worry, Samsung has already promised a software update for the device. The Samsung Galaxy M20 software update will be available for users in the month of August.
