Lava Benco V8 Review: Lava's Comeback?
GadgetByte Nepali · 6 years ago
Lava has recently revamped its strategy for its smartphones in Nepal and introduced the Benco series as budget offerings. Among the various models that have launched in the Benco series, we have been using the Lava Benco V8 and in this video, we have unboxed it and shared our experiences with it. Before getting started with the Lava Benco V8 review, let's get familiar with its Price in Nepal. Lava Benco Price in Nepal: Rs. 12,999 Now, that we know the price, let's get to the review of it. Design-wise, there is no doubt that this one is made of plastic, the back, the frames, everything. But even so, the design is not bad to look at or to feel on the hands. This Blue color seems very refreshing to say at the least. Overall the design of the Lava Benco V8 does not seem cheap in anyways, in fact, we think for the price it does justice. Display-wise there is a 6.5 inches IPS panel featuring here with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. The colors of it do not seem very punchy, but since it is such a big display, watching Youtube videos is a good experience in it. And at this price, manufacturers do not offer more than 720p display, so it's worth, I guess. You get 2GB RAM and 32GB storage in the Lava Benco V8, which is justifiable enough at this price. Although you get 1GB more in the Redmi 8A, for a similar price, the end performance should not be drastically different. Talking of performance, you get MediaTek’s Helio P23 chipset here which works fine on it. PUBG is playable in the lowest of settings with some lags here and there. Normal performance is okay too. Multitasking with 5-7 apps is achievable without the phone breaking down. The battery is one of the strongest suits of the phone. You get 4,000 mAh battery here, whose endurance with respect to its HD display and the low powered processor is very good. If you watch a lot of videos, then it might be one entire day, otherwise, the Benco V8’s battery is very enduring. Cameras on the Bneco V8 are strictly average. However, the end result after processing looks much better than what we see on the screen while clicking a photo. The images have very average colors and the details are not very pronounced as well. So, the images from the 16MP primary snapper look decent at best. The other lens is a 2MP depth sensor, that, well does not have very good performance, but we cannot complain either. However, the good thing is that you can change the blur amount before taking images to get the best results out of it. The third 2MP macro lens is how you would imagine it to be, below average! Selfies form the 8MP snapper are average as well. But, overall, for the price, the Lava Benco V8 offers some acceptable specs.
